Photos and Snippets

-Thank you all for your kind words yesterday. I really did try to handle that situation with as much grace and professionalism as possible, and it was nice to hear that many of you would have handled the situation the same way. Unfortunately, the situation has deteriorated even more, but I'm just not going to get into it on here. I am done feeding in to her attempts to start drama.

-With that said, happy time! We went to the pumpkin patch this weekend! I took these from Facebook, so the quality has deteriorated a little, but you get the idea. Lizzy got to ride a pony, which she was THRILLED about! Over all, it was a great fall day spent with great friends!

-And a question for other moms--when did/do you plan to start your kids on whole milk? I know the official recommendation is not until after they're a year old, but it seems like most moms I know started earlier...

  1. She is so cute, I think I say that everytime I see photos but my heart just melts looking at those pictures! It looks like it was a wonderful time, I'm sorry to hear that mom situation has gotten further out of hand. It's amazing the gall people have these days...

  2. She is just such a perfect combination of both you and Justin, So cute!
As for the whole milk transition, we started just a few weeks before he turned a year old. I started by mixing 1/4 milk, and 3/4 formula, then 1/2 and 1/2, and so on until it was all milk which happened to be right at one year. He did great with the subtle transition. I did that per my pedi recommendation.

  3. cute photos! looks like y'all had a super fun time! I didn't start my oldest on whole milk until she was after a year old and then I did mix with formula for a week or two ... but I'm a big stickler on waiting till the recommended times :-)

  4. Yay for happy times!

We started Landon on whole milk a week before he turned 1. We didn't do the half and half thing. Just put whole milk in a sippy and that was that! Easy peasy.

  7. Right at a year we started with the whole milk, at first I did half and half with breastmilk then eventually once I was done nursing him, gave him all whole milk.

    Love the pics!

  8. She's darling, what a fun way to spend a day! Food allergies are a big issue for us because of B's own allergies, so I'm planning to hold off til a year on milk as long as I can nurse or pump that long, but we'll see. My pediatrician was telling me last week that they have no clue how to actually handle allergies - that now research is showing the earlier kids are exposed to foods the less likely they are to become allergic. So frustrating!

  10. Hi, I found you through Marital Bless, and I am enjoying exploring your site.

Whole milk...we just started last week, and we are introducing it slowly. Like...first step...in his oatmeal. Then we went to one sippy cup in the afternoon instead of nursing. Thats as far as we have gotten!Good luck!

  12. Um sorry I posted that twice...Im not sure what happened there!

And also...duh, I wrote that comment like you have any idea how old my son is! He will be one in a week, so we started whole milk around 11.5 months.

I love all of those pictures so much!

We waited until one year, except for one time when someone gave it to him without our knowledge . . .
