Drumroll Please: Accent Vlog

For my first vlog ever, I decided to jump on the accent vlog trend--last night on Twitter, a couple of blog friends *cough* Kristal & Faith *cough* said that they'd believe it when they saw it when I told them that I don't think Oregonians have accents. So, once I tracked down my old point and shoot camera, I decided that I'd give this whole vlog thing a shot in all my nerdy glory. Plus, like everyone else has said so far, it's kinda fun to put a voice to the words.

So tell me--do I have an accent?

  1. Adorable! It doesn't sound like an accent to me, but you know, I'm from the northwest so it sounds like HOME! <3 Love it!

  7. I would say not much of one, but it doesn't sound specific to any one area. You do say Oregon a bit different than I do. Yay for ya'lls! I don't know how people DON'T use it!

  8. Oregon. Here in ND everyone says "Ore-gun!" drives Jesse and I NUTSO! You do not have an accent in my book ;) Miss you! So good to hear your voice and see your face! :)

  9. Ore-i-gone.... We, in Central Illinois say "Ore-i-gun"... Otherwise, I guess everything else sounds the same :)

  10. I've heard that the Pacific Northwest Accent is the one they use on news channels because it's the most "pure" or least pinpoint-able accent in America. There's not a drawl, or a twang, or a slur. But I'm definitely not one to judge if you have an accent!

  11. I say slight accent. It's almost like I detect a very slight Canadian accent there, but I'm from Kansas so what do I know. :) fun post!

  14. I'm not sure if I've ever even commented on here before, but I love your blog and it was neat to hear a voice to match with your pictures! I am from the midwest and I think you sound exactly like me!! I am told all the time that I do have an accent, which I think is funny :) So no, you do not have an accent to me!

  15. You sound like you have picked up the Shady Cove dialect. I've never noticed the pronounced "s".

I think with all the channels, on TV, radio, plus the internet, accents are more deluted than ever.

I still enjoy the accents from different countries such as Austrailia, Scotland, France, or England.

  16. First off, so fun to hear your voice and see you talk!

I don't hear an accent at all, it sounds very "Midwestern" to me. You'd fit in well here, so just go ahead and move here. :) Well, except you'd have to quit calling it Soda. Ha!
