Thursday Thoughts

-Last night, I had the most vivid dream that two of my sisters-in-law, and I were all pregnant. One of my sisters-in-law, Renee, really is pregnant. Anyway, in my dream, no one in the world could feel their babies kick anymore and everyone was freaking out, and scientists were all trying to explain that our bodies had evolved to offer an additional layer of protection, and that's why it was impossible to feel movement anymore. It was so weird. And so real. And then, I dreamed that I blogged about my weird dream. Heh.

-I've mentioned before that a total guilty pleasure of ours is watching the Challenges on MTV. I know. I know. But anyway, we watch them every time and talk about the very few people that we really like, and Justin plans out how he would win all of the challenges if he were ever on them and re-enacts it all in our living room :) . So anyway, one of my favorite people is @Sarah_Rice. This time around, she was partnered with Vinny. Vinny is an idiot, and got disqualified and sent home for ripping another girl's shirt off at a club. In the past, nearly any time I can think of, when one partner has gotten sent home for bad behavior, they've allowed the other person to stay and brought in a new partner for them. But Sarah Rice? THEY SENT HER HOME TOO. Because the person that they paired her with was an idiot. I'm actually really fired up about this. Not cool MTV, especially when that has NOT been the precedent in the past.

-We completed our first budgeted month and are doing great! We've set the budget for February...and I've already purchased something that wasn't in the budget. *Sigh* I'm a rule follower, so I hate doing things like that. But, it was a need rather than a want, so we'll shuffle things around to make it work.

-Speaking of being a rule follower...I had been reading Grace for the Good Girl by Emily P. Freeman (@emily_chats) on loan from the library. I just returned it...I wasn't done reading, but it was overdue and I couldn't bring myself to keep it! I felt too bad! Is that saying something about my "good girl" status or what?!

-I'm not usually a big chips person, but I cannot get enough of Kettle Chips Sea Salt and Vinegar lately. I want to eat them for every single meal.

-My knee is still all buggered up and swollen, so I haven't been able to do Insanity. Heck, walking is a challenge. This is frustrating for me, especially in light of the previous snippet.

-This week, we're officially a Nielsen family! Am I the only one who has always wanted to do that?!

  2. Ohhh, what a strange dream. I always have really strange dreams so I love hearing about other people's dreams.

    Maybe it's a sign for you . . . :)

  3. So um, when I read the chip comment? I first read it as you were a big chip person, as in really LARGE chips. I was wondering hmm, I've never had some sort of extra large special chip. Maybe I should look for those...

Apparently all intelligence escaped me for a moment :o)

  5. We would be devastating to all of the Kettle sea salt and vinegar chips together. Sometimes I sit down to watch TV with some and then 30 minutes later I realize I'm still eating and my tongue kind of huts, but they are SO GOOD!

I haven't watched the most recent MTV Challenges, but Sarah seems like an awesome chick! I heard Wes was actually being nice this season and then just got kicked off as well (thank you, Twitterverse) but haven't gotten to see any episodes yet. I'm going to have to now!

    Happy Thursday!

  7. Did you like Grace for the good girl? I mean, I know you didn't finish it, but I've heard great things about it.

Congrats on doing a good job sticking to your budget!

  8. Don't worry about changing the budget! A budget isn't meant to control you be a set rule, it's meant for you to be able to control your money! We took Dave Ramsey's advice and have a "blow" category on our budget for when we blow the budget. That way, if something pops up that we weren't expecting (or if we go over somewhere), it goes in blow!
