I liked Faithful Place, but I had the mystery figured out about 30 pages in. Onto a better 2012 of reading..I'm adding a bunch of your books to my goodreads queue right now!Emilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04793480432068543767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1170116880352300881.post-28560176638047704642012-01-03T16:43:47.126-08:002012-01-03T16:43:47.126-08:00Agree with you on #s 11 & 19 -- loved them!Agree with you on #s 11 & 19 -- loved them!KThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02467215592719889830noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1170116880352300881.post-79246341469642690622012-01-03T15:46:01.825-08:002012-01-03T15:46:01.825-08:00I'm fairly certain I read Cormac McCarthy'...I'm fairly certain I read Cormac McCarthy's Cities of the Plain in 2011, and it was excellent as ever. Bloodlands: Europe Between Stalin and Hitler by Timothy Snyder is all the rage in Holocaust studies circles now, and it was pretty good too.Baloohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15283328719713141490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1170116880352300881.post-59673959470013592472012-01-03T14:13:37.627-08:002012-01-03T14:13:37.627-08:00I read a lot of great books this year - I liked Th...I read a lot of great books this year - I liked The Mighty Heart, The Middle Place, 32 Candles, The Girl series, The Hunger Games series. And I loved Girl in Translation (it was a late-2010 book, but it's worth mentioning).

Have you seen The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo movie? Ryan and I just saw it for our anniversary (not the most romantic choice) and thought it was really good.Kim @ NewlyWoodwardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14306871325108889905noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1170116880352300881.post-12137990507871829162012-01-03T13:37:30.777-08:002012-01-03T13:37:30.777-08:00Ahh Elizabeth Berg. I cannot sing its praises enough. People are irritated with how much I keep talking about it but it was so, so good. Better than "Under the Dome." And that's saying something because as soon as I read "UtD" I christened it my second favorite book of all time. "11/22/63" beats it by a million!Whithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04363619895070735473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1170116880352300881.post-88028022001284148122012-01-03T09:07:33.520-08:002012-01-03T09:07:33.520-08:00The Help was definitely my favorite read from 2011...The Help was definitely my favorite read from 2011!!

- Shauna life.love.Shaunahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03594427573751817738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1170116880352300881.post-34108311446596642012-01-03T08:50:11.351-08:002012-01-03T08:50:11.351-08:00I wish I read more. :(I wish I read more. :(Meganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11694976484799643144noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1170116880352300881.post-64480802402145466192012-01-03T08:00:50.339-08:002012-01-03T08:00:50.339-08:00We've read a lot of the same books over the la...We've read a lot of the same books over the last two years and I see some of my favs highlighted as your favs! I love seeing that other people have enjoyed the same books I have!

This year I read 44 books. I don't know if I can pick just ONE favorite, but those that topped my list would be:

The Bronze Horseman (trilogy, but TBH was my favorite from the series) by Paullina Simons

A Game of Thrones (Book One of Fire and Ice Series) by George R. Martin - surprising fav!

The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood

Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen

The Passage by Justin Cronin (first in a trilogy, book 2 is due out in 2012)

Unbroken by Lauren Hillenbrand - I just finished this one last week and I think it completes my list of favs from 2011Stephaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01281152742477496810noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1170116880352300881.post-86996587903048537882012-01-03T06:06:24.253-08:002012-01-03T06:06:24.253-08:00I LOVED Divergent (I finished it right before Chri...I LOVED Divergent (I finished it right before Christmas) and Matched. I read the second book in the Matched trilogy, Crossed, and found it highly disappointing. I also just finished Inheritance, the fourth book in the Inheritance cycle (starts with Eragon), which I found better than all the previous books. I've found them to be overly-detailed and ponderous, but this one didn't feel quite like the previous three. I also really enjoyed The Fiddler's Gun, which I read much earlier in the year.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
