Today's Burning Question of the Day is.......
What time do you wake up in the morning?
Today, I was awake by about 5:30am--Justin's second or third alarm of the morning? About 6am, when I finally got out of bed and Justin was running out the door, Justin said he was sorry for the alarms waking me up (he sleeps like the dead through any number of alarms, and I don't). I told him that it was okay--I was kind of happy to have an hour or so to myself before Lizzy woke up.
To which I promptly heard, "Mommy! I'm awake! It's okay for me to come out now!" (the latter part of which I believe is supposed to be a question, but is really just a statement, ha!) Of course. But, what can you do?
How about you? What time did you wake up this morning? What time do you normally get up?
I am similar to you that I can't sleep through snoozes or multiple alarms, so I sleep until the last possible minute and don't usually go beyond. During the week, that's 6:30 on the weekends usually about 7. Lucky for me, Tony gets up after I do most days. I have no rose colored glasses about how that will change once our baby comes, but for now I'm soaking it in!
ReplyDeleteI think the first time I got up was around 6:30. But then I heard the thunder and rain and snuggled under the covers some more :) Jim came home from work around 7:15 to change for his painting job and I woke up again. Right after he left I got Eli up and we snuggled in bed some more while he watched a DVD and I read. Rough morning ;)
ReplyDeleteMy husband is the same way, he sets like 4 alarms, and by the second one I'm wide awake. Drives me a bit crazy sometimes. I tend to wake up by myself by 6:15am if noting has woken me up before that.
ReplyDeleteThis morning? This morning I woke up at 4:30 to pee, and then realized Ryann was freaking AWAKE. 4th time this week she has been up before 5. She was calling out to me by 5:20, and we fought with each other until I finally got her to go back to sleep at 6:10. I was so irritated that I went for a run instead of going back to sleep. So 4:30. I've been up between 4:30 and 5 for pretty much the last two weeks. I'm EXHAUSTED.
I get up with my husband at 6:15 and do my quiet time for 30-45 minutes before Jaxon gets up. I *cherish* this time.
ReplyDeleteI work a rotating schedule.... Which I HATE... It's so hard to get on a GOOD sleep schedule. And I drive an hour to work. So, when I work 8-4:30, I sleep until 6:30 ( I only give myself a half an hour to get ready..hehe)...9-5:30, I sleep until 7:30, and when I work 10-6:30, I sleep until 8:30. BUT..When I'm off on Saturday and Sunday...all bets are OFF and I sleep as LATE AS I POSSIBLY CAN.
ReplyDeleteI woke up at 5am this morning....and that's the time I wake up every morning. With having a 45 minute commute to work, and having to drop the little guy off at daycare beforehand, I definitely need to be an early-riser. Bummer.
ReplyDeleteThat image made me lol!
ReplyDeleteI get up when Isaac does. I don't have the discipline to get up before him! Usually that means 7am, although sometimes (if we've had a busy day/week), it can be as late as 8 or 8:30. I'm gonna miss that when this baby comes!!!
Well.. if I get up to run or bike when I am scheduled to, 4:50 am, followed by a good half hour coffee/wake up time and then work out for an hour. It seems like I've been super lazy this summer though and more often then not, the alarm goes off at 6:15 and then I read the interwebs for like 10-15 minutes to wake up before getting going.
ReplyDeleteBahaha. I love the alarm names. ;)
ReplyDeleteI get up when Ethan wakes up, which is anywhere between 7 and 9, usually. Unless it's a Sunday for church...then my alarm is on for 7:30. :)
Good question Mere! I have actually promised my self I'd get better about this... actually I've even told one of my coworkers that I Need to work on this. Lately I have been so unmotivated that I set the alarm to 6:15am and keep snoozing 'til up to almost 6:40 am... the bad thing? I HAVE to be at work by 7:00 am.
ReplyDeleteGood thing I live just 3 Kms. away from the office (blessed!). But Still.. I MUST work harder on getting better...
6AM to run! Or 7:40, if I skip it. And I shouldn't be skipping it. Haha!
ReplyDeleteI get up around 8. I try to get up before Sarah to have time to take the dogs out. I get my quiet time during her nap.
ReplyDeleteI'm off my game in the waking up department...I like to get up before the kids, but that's realistically not going to happen until I can better predict when Nell will wake up in the morning. It's varying right now between 6 - 7.
ReplyDeleteI'm a 7:25-7:45er. If I see the other side of 7:00, I might as well just have not gotten out of bed - I am a mess! Useless for the day! I know that one day when we have kiddos that will probably all change, but right now, I'm enjoying it!
