For my first vlog ever, I decided to jump on the accent vlog trend--last night on Twitter, a couple of blog friends *cough* Kristal & Faith *cough* said that they'd believe it when they saw it when I told them that I don't think Oregonians have accents. So, once I tracked down my old point and shoot camera, I decided that I'd give this whole vlog thing a shot in all my nerdy glory. Plus, like everyone else has said so far, it's kinda fun to put a voice to the words.
So tell me--do I have an accent?
Adorable! It doesn't sound like an accent to me, but you know, I'm from the northwest so it sounds like HOME! <3 Love it!
ReplyDeleteAlso, how do you not say "you guys"?! Way better than y'all. ;)
ReplyDeleteSo cute, I love hearing everyone's voices. I'm totally doing this this weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteI was going to say no. Then I decided you have a SLIGHT accent! :)
ReplyDeleteYay for you vlogging (as I said on Twitter).
I'm so loving this! I'd say no, you don't have an accent. So glad you participated, love hearing all these voices!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm working on mine now :) :)
ReplyDeleteI would say not much of one, but it doesn't sound specific to any one area. You do say Oregon a bit different than I do. Yay for ya'lls! I don't know how people DON'T use it!
ReplyDeleteOregon. Here in ND everyone says "Ore-gun!" drives Jesse and I NUTSO! You do not have an accent in my book ;) Miss you! So good to hear your voice and see your face! :)
ReplyDeleteOre-i-gone.... We, in Central Illinois say "Ore-i-gun"... Otherwise, I guess everything else sounds the same :)
ReplyDeleteI've heard that the Pacific Northwest Accent is the one they use on news channels because it's the most "pure" or least pinpoint-able accent in America. There's not a drawl, or a twang, or a slur. But I'm definitely not one to judge if you have an accent!
ReplyDeleteI say slight accent. It's almost like I detect a very slight Canadian accent there, but I'm from Kansas so what do I know. :) fun post!
ReplyDeleteYou might have picked up a little Minnesotan from me! ;)
ReplyDeleteI hear an accent! Different from what I hear down in Georgia anyways ;-) These are so fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I've ever even commented on here before, but I love your blog and it was neat to hear a voice to match with your pictures! I am from the midwest and I think you sound exactly like me!! I am told all the time that I do have an accent, which I think is funny :) So no, you do not have an accent to me!
ReplyDeleteYou sound like you have picked up the Shady Cove dialect. I've never noticed the pronounced "s".
ReplyDeleteI think with all the channels, on TV, radio, plus the internet, accents are more deluted than ever.
I still enjoy the accents from different countries such as Austrailia, Scotland, France, or England.
First off, so fun to hear your voice and see you talk!
ReplyDeleteI don't hear an accent at all, it sounds very "Midwestern" to me. You'd fit in well here, so just go ahead and move here. :) Well, except you'd have to quit calling it Soda. Ha!
I would say, nope!
