BQOTD: How Much Would You Spend On Jeans

What's the most expensive pair of jeans you've ever purchased? Was it worth the extra expense? How much would you be willing to spend on a pair of jeans?

  1. I have spent 82(gasp). That is about as much as I will spend. Normally I dont spend over 30-40. If we won the lottery I would totally own like 10 pairs of True Religion Jeans tho, and those are like 150-300 a pair which is INSANE to me. =)

  2. I've spent $69, but that's the most. For me, it was worth it -- but I also wear my jeans into the ground, so I had them for 4-5 years.

  3. Ok, I'm going to try to not be long-winded here...

Back in college when I didn't know how dangerous credit cards were, I had an obsession with Lucky Brand jeans. I probably had 8 pairs at one point. My most expensive pair were probably $120. Now, I would have a really hard time spending over $50. I do have to say, though... 7 years later, I still have 4 pairs of those Lucky jeans and they are all still in good shape. Any jeans I have bought since then just don't seem to last as long. So, in the end... maybe it was worth it to spend a hundred bucks on jeans?? I feel like I'd really have to scrimp & save to buy jeans that expensive now, though!!

  4. I typically would spend around $40 to $60... I'm not going to lie though, I dream of fitting into a great pair of Lucky or True Religion jeans. I'm on my way to shrinking down enough to fit a pair comfortably and when I do - you bet I'm going to give in :-)

  5. If I want to "splurge", I'll go to the Gap and pay around $80 for the perfect fitting jeans. But I'm way too cheap for that and usually spend somewhere around the $30 range. I just can't justify spending so much when there are perfectly fine jeans out there for less. Although I will say, more expensive jeans tend to hold their shape MUCH longer. I can give 'em that much.

  6. When I was in high school and had my first job, I spent $200 on a pair of Seven jeans. Now I won't go over $80 and they have to be really awesome for me to spend that.

  7. I think it was around 75, and no...not worth it. I love my jeans, and I wear them hard. I wont spend more than 30 or so on a new pair though...preferably less! Maybe if I noticed a difference between the more expensive ones and the cheaper, but I just dont. Some of my favorite fitting jeans have been clearance snags

  8. I've spent $100 on jeans - usually from Nordstrom Rack. And yeah, I loved them, but now that we have a family I can't justify it as much. But honestly, the gap jeans at $70 do the job. I wouldn't go above $150 unless the jeans actually sucked the muffin top out of me for good. :)

  9. I'm kind of a name brand jean yuppy. So I have some true religions, 7 for all mankind and joey jeans. All range from $150- $200. I bought most of these maybe 5 years ago, and they still look amazing. The fit is so awesome, and I can't compare it to any other type of jean. For me, I'd rather have a pair 3 pairs jeans that I love, and that look good then 6 airs of half priced jeans that are just ehh. ( for the record, I do own some target and old navy jeans, and I do wear them, but their not my "comfy" jeans.)

  10. I also have 3 pairs of Lucky jeans that I bought in HS/College that I still wear to this day because they are so well made. They range from $80-120. These days? Not more than $50.

  11. I went to college with girls who spent $200-300 on a pair of jeans. No thanks. I'd rather have 10 pairs of $20-30 jeans. The most I've ever spent was probably $50, but my two favorite pairs of skinnies came from JCPenney ($13) and Charlotte Russe ($19).

  12. $100 for a pair of Banana Republic trouser jeans and no, it wasn't worth it. I ended up giving them to my mom and now my go to trouser jeans are at NY&CO.

  13. I think I've spent $80 on a pair of jeans from the Gap, but haven't gotten anything nicer than Gap jeans. I just can't mentally justify getting anything nicer, I'd feel ridiculous wearing jeans that cost that much. But I'm currently in the market for new jeans, and want to find the perfect pair, so I guess I'll never say never.

For the most part, my jeans are about $30-50 from the Gap Outlet.

  14. I have spent $130 dollars on several pairs of jeans (7FAM). They last for years and look GOOD for years, which is key. I've also spent much less, like 50-60 dollars and they have held up nice for the cost. I'm a little less spendy these days with 2 kiddos to outfit in addition to myself, but spending extra on something I wear every single day is worth it.

  15. Generally about $80-90 for Silver Jeans. They are my favorite. Comfortable, plus sizes, many different washes to choose from. It's really all I've been wearing since high school.

  16. I have spent $300 on jeans, and they lasted me 6 marvelous years before I got a hole in them. Unlike my cheaper jeans, which usually spontanelously combust after 6 months.

  17. With 3 kids I feel guilty about spending $40 on pair of jeans. One day I would love to splurge.

  18. It has been FOREVER since I have actually bought jeans. But in my "jean buying days" I would spend $150-200 on a good pair of jeans. That still fit amazingly today. Now? I would probably pay about $100 and be happy. BTW - what does BQOTD mean?

  19. @ L: I think it means Big Question Of The Day.

@ Meredith The last 2 pairs of jeans I bought were on sale from 40 bucks to 20 bucks. So I bought them because I was in desperate need of some jeans and on a serious budget. If I could I probably would spend more on jeans. The most I have ever spent on jeans was probably around 70 bucks.

  20. I can usually get my Hydraulics at Macys or Maurices for $40-$50. I have spent more, but I try to wait for a sale + coupon (and they almost always have one with the coupon app). Love, love, love Hydraulics!

P.S. my sister just called yesterday saying she found a pair of Sevens at Goodwill for $2!!!

  21. The most I've ever spent on jeans is around $70. I buy my jeans at the Gap, because they fit me really well. The price is worth it to me - I'd rather have one pair I love than 2 or 3 that I'm not crazy about.

I have come to discover that, to an extent, you get what you pay for when it comes to clothes (and shoes).

  22. My favorite jeans were Silvers. Oh how I loved them. Usually around $70.

Lately, I've been buying my jeans from AE when they have their $30 sale. They get the job done. :)
