Since it's hard to type with one hand, and even harder when the one hand is your left hand, I'll keep today's question short:
What facewash do you use, and do you like it?
I used to use Proactiv and liked it a lot. But I decided to try some drugstore brands again...right now it's one of the Acne Free face washes. I don't know whether or not I like it--I HAVE had some breakouts lately, but to be fair, I also HAVE had crazy as all get out hormones lately too...
What about you?

I use whatever's available, lately a Mary Kay product that I like but it's not geared towards breakouts. Don't think I'm going to be much help here, unfortunately!
ReplyDeleteHAHA. Been there. :)
ReplyDeleteA: Total teenager and I use Oxy. I used Proactiv for awhile this summer after not using it for years, but didn't seem to respond to it enough to justify the cost.
I've used Neutrogena's Fresh Foaming Cleanser (in the light blue bottle) forever. It removes all my makeup (even stubborn mascara) but is still really gentle.
ReplyDeleteIf you're struggling with breakouts, I would suggest focusing more on finding a treatment that actually sits on your face for a prolonged amount of time, such as a lotion/gel geared for acne-prone skin, rather than a facewash, which only touches your skin for less than a minute (at least that's what my derm has suggested). GL!
Love love love mine right now! I'm using Neutrogena something or other. It's in a blue and yellow bottle and the soap itself is blue with little blue beads in it.
ReplyDeleteMy hormones are also all outta whack right now and between this stuff and Oil of Olay face lotion I've kept the teen-age skin at bay for the most part :)
I use the SkinID. I love it! I don't use it like it should be used (since I'm pregnant) but will start it again when she's born!
ReplyDeleteI've used Cliniques liquid facewash for as long as I can remember. It's $11 and lasts me about 6 months (2 washes a day). It seems to work pretty well. I'm with you, though- hormones haven't done my face any favors.
ReplyDeleteI have Olay Regenerist something or other with microbeads. It's too scratchy, so I don't recommend it. I'm about to switch to Mary Kay TimeWise, I think it is fabulous!
ReplyDeletenuetrogena girl here! I use the acne wash, it's in a clear bottle.
ReplyDeleteI wash my face twice a day and use a different facewash each time. In the mornings (in the shower), I use St. Ives Apricot Scrub and in the evenings, I use Neutrogena Oil Free Face Wash. Love both of them. I like the scrub in the mornings because it makes my face feel extra clean and I like the Neutrogena at night because it takes all my makeup and mascara off well.
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna go with the whole Mary Kay line called timewise...it has a cleanser you use in the morning, a moisturizer, and this little day soluation--then, at night, you cleanse again and put this little night solution on filled with vitamins. Its made my skin feel SO good and its been years since it's felt this nice, honestly. It was worth it...and will last 6 months. A little bit of that stuff goes a long way it seems!
ReplyDeleteI use Noxemima which I think works okay...I used to have good skin but then changed medicine and now its like I'm back in high school-blah!
ReplyDeleteI use the Mary Kay Timewise line and have religiously for about 4 years. Like the pp said, it last a long time. Love it.
ReplyDeleteI've used Proactiv for years, but lately it hasn't been helping. I'm not sure what I'm looking for now, but I plan on trying a few I've seen at Target.
ReplyDeletei used to use proactiv got tired of how much it cost. about 5 years ago i switched to acne free -- i buy it at costco and it's $20 for 4 pieces, large bottles.
ReplyDeletethe thing with these two medications is that they are slightly different. i found proactive to be much more drying. when you stop one and start another you are going to break out. that's how they are made; then it controls the bacteria.
about a year after using acne free morning and night, i only needed it at night. i was able to switch to dove soap in the morning.
for the past two years, i've been using the regime i describe in my post.

i know how frustrating this saga is!! i hope this helps some!
I use Clean and Clear Morning Burst in the morning and then pHisoderm Anti-Blemish Gel Face Wash. I use benzoyl peroxide for spot treatments. I've found lately when something is really bad I put a tiny bit of neosporin on it. It's helped clear up big ones a lot quicker.
ReplyDeleteI use soap. It gets the grease off my face.
ReplyDeleteI used to use Burt's Bees Soap Bark and Chamomile facial cleanser for years and it was amazing. I highly recommend it.
ReplyDeleteBut since it's $8 a bottle, I recently decided to switch to the target brand deep cleanser cream and it works great too and is a lot easier on the old wallet!
