So...if Justin cooperates with me, I may finally be able to take pictures of the pretty-much-finished nursery this weekend. In the meantime, I was feeling like the wall with the DIY Bird Wall-Art was looking pretty sparse, but I didn't really want to spend anything on more wall-art. I had an idea come to me, but now I'm not sure whether I like it.
Some of you might remember that J and I made a playlist for Lizard at one point. One of the songs on the playlist was "Three Little Birds" by Bob Marley. That song was also my high school class' graduation song, and for a worry-wart like me, it's kind of my soundtrack. So, I whipped these up in Photoshop and printed them out on the laser printer, and then I was planning to frame them. The birds are currently hung sort of diagonally from each other, so I have a few ideas on how to hang all four of them together. Justin says that he'd have to see them hung...he isn't quite sold.

What do you think? Is that a silly idea for nursery wall art? Do you have a better inexpensive DIY idea for me?

OMG, there's no way I could show this to John because he would LOVE that and want it for himself. When we went to Jamaica for our honeymoon he insisted on visiting the Bob Marley Foundation. It was one of the highlights of the trip for him (I barely remember because I was super sick with what turned out to be bronchitis). I think it's really cool, especially if it has meaning for you.
ReplyDeleteI love it, and it works perfectly with the bird prints. Not sure what your plan is for hanging, but if you do it in a square grid I think it could look awesome (especially b/c the birds are landscape and the words are portrait)! Birds diagonal from each other and song lyrics diagonal from each other.
ReplyDeleteI think that is an AMAZING idea. Seriously, I love it. Definitely use these!
ReplyDeleteI think this is a fabulous idea! To me, the lyrics you picked don't scream "SONG!!" and fit perfectly in a nursery. Also, I really like Emily's idea for how to hang them. If you can convince Justin, I say go for it!
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone else-USE IT!
ReplyDeleteI really love it! I have a small suggestion- maybe to increase the leading (space between each line)? I think visually, it's a little crunched. Otherwise, I would definitely use them and I can't WAIT to see them in your nursery!! Great job!
ReplyDeleteSorry about above- I re-read it and you probably weren't looking for that type of advice. Just ignore me! ;)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE IT. A lot. If you don't end up using them, it's still a great idea. Really, really cute. And I am seriously super impressed with your craftiness. I like what this pregnancy is inspiring! :D
ReplyDeleteI love it! I think it's perfect!
ReplyDeleteAww! I love it! The second one is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI love them :) I think they would look fabulous!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the art, can't wait to see it hung. I especially love that it has personal meaning for you.
